privacy policy & cookie statement

This privacy statement and cookies policy covers any data that we collect about you (“personally identifiable data”) either through the Leverhulme website (“the site”) or in any other dealings with you and the uses we intend to make of that data.

Cookie policy

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a website’s computer and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

Use of cookies

A new EU law came into force (e-Privacy directive) on 26 May 2012 regulating the use of cookies on websites. We do not use many cookies for our websites, but those we use are detailed below. Our public website (leverhulmehotel.co.uk) also includes some YouTube videos which may introduce some cookies. Options to allow you to share links on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter etc are included on each page, and will use cookies you already have for those sites (which may record your username etc to aid logging in). Please refer to those media sites to review their cookie policy.

Google Analytics cookies collect information on how visitors use our site and to help us target areas of the site for improvement. The information collected is anonymous, but allows us to track how many visitors we have had to the site and how they arrived at our site.

For more information please refer to the Google Analytics Privacy Overview.

Types and sources of data gathered

In the course of our business we gather personally identifiable data about you, including information you provide, such as your name, address, telephone number, email address.

Use and security of information

The information we collect about you is used to process the services requested by you. We do not send your personally identifiable data to any other company, including our affiliates, neither do we use your personally identifiable data for marketing purposes. If there is any proposed change in these policies your consent will be sought in advance.

Once you have submitted your request to Leverhulme, it will be stored on Leverhulme’s internal computer systems. Access to the Leverhulme computer system is restricted and password protected.

Your personal data will be retained for as long as the purpose for which the information was collected continues. It will then be destroyed unless its retention is required to satisfy legal or regulatory requirements.

Exchange of information

Basic information will be collected from visitors to the site to enable us to collate basic site activity statistics. In addition, at various points within the site, visitors will be given the option to fill in data collection forms or email people within Leverhulme. The purpose of such forms or emails will be readily apparent, and any form or email content is supplied solely at the discretion of the sender, will not be encrypted and will be delivered over the public Internet.

Links to other sites

There are some links from the site to other web sites. These other web sites ARE NOT covered by this privacy statement. We do not monitor or control information collected once you enter any of these sites. For details of the treatment of your personally identifiable collected from any of these web sites, please read their privacy policies or contact them.

We hope this statement answers your questions about our collection and use of your personally identifiable data. If you have any further questions about our treatment of your data, please write to us at Leverhulme Hotel, Port Sunlight Village, CH62 5EZ (telephone +44 (0)151 644 6655) or email enquiries@leverhulmehotel.co.uk with the message ‘Data Protection”.

Data Protection

If you provide us with personal information as part of an information or service request through this website, we will only use your data to process your request (subject to the data protection registration for the individual service concerned).

In processing any requests we may have to pass it to another internal department. The ways in which we collect and protect your personal information through this website are detailed in this Privacy Statement.
